Literacy Basic Skills (LBS):
The LBS Program focuses on developing foundational skills that prepare learners to transition to next steps related to their individual goals. The program prepares learners to move on to employment, apprenticeship, secondary school credit, postsecondary education, or independence. Learners also work with the program on creating individualized learner plans.
English being the most commonly used language in the corporate world; the written and oral knowledge of English is one of the most important employability skills.
Learning math helps workers analyze and solve problems—abilities that most employers value. Math also teaches other important practices, including how to approach tasks methodically, pay attention to detail, and think abstractly.
